Nothing says “fall” quite like an autumn festival or other outdoor events. Fall activities are especially fun if you have frolicking dogs who could use a change of scenery. Most of the ones we’ve rounded up in the Boerne, TX area are dog-friendly. But for the one or two that aren’t, don’t forget you can always drop Fido off for a special day at The Wagmore Pet Resort!
Mutt Strut: October 21, 2017 (Dog-Friendly)
This pet parade kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Boerne Main Plaza, with the route extending along the Cibolo Trail. Everyone who registers for Mutt Strut gets a bandana for their dogs, plus a t-shirt for yourself. There will be cash prizes for the best doggy costumes, so register soon and get a free goody bag as well!
Peppers for Paws: October 21, 2017 (Dog-Friendly)
At the same day and location as the Mutt Strut kickoff, you’ll find the Peppers for Paws event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This 5th Annual Texas-style Chili Cook-Off in Boerne has something for everyone. You can enter as one of the cooks, or just come and enjoy great food. Don’t forget to check out the adoption event if you’re looking for a forever friend. Along with the chili and the adoption event, you’ll find live music, food trucks and a bouncy house.
Fall Family Festival: October 28, 2017
For just $10 per family, you’ll spend a magical fall day at the historic Herff Farm in Boerne. Activities include a hay bale maze, bobbing for apples, crafts, carnival games and pumpkin painting. The Fall Family Festival is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit! This event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kendall County Wild Game Dinner: November 4, 2017
A mere $20 will get you access to some of the most inventive, exotic food around. The seventh annual Wild Game Dinner happens at the Kendall County Youth Agriculture and Equestrian Center. Your culinary options range from bison sliders and fried alligator to classics like smoked turkey and pulled pork. All that, plus auctions and door prizes!
Pioneer Days Festival: November 11, 2017
